The lace sits along the side seam, not against the skin where it would rub — the body of the panty is 100% nylon and the lace panel itself is a soft nylon/spandex blend (78%/22%), so it stretches with you rather than digging in. Under most clothing, the lace sits flat enough not to print through, but if you're wearing something very fitted or sheer, a smoother style may sit cleaner.

Nylon is a smooth, lightweight fabric that layers well under clothing, but it isn't as breathable as cotton.
