Yes — HDL400 uses the same Maximum-tier pad as our full-cut version (HDL200), just set into a lower-rise brief. The absorbency (1–2 oz per leak, up to 20 oz accumulated) is identical; what changes is where the waistband sits.

While we do have many customers that use our products at night, the success will depend on your level of incontinence and your sleeping positions. None of our underwear is padded all the way up the back to the waistband (except our women's HDL600 model) - so if you sleep on your back, or in twisted positions, there is a chance that liquid will flow towards your back and up past the padding. If you sleep on your side, there is a possibility you could experience leaks over the edges of the pad. None of our products are intended for heavy streams or full voids, so if you deal with either of those at nighttime, your Wearever® underwear will likely absorb the first 1 to 2 oz of a void or leak, and then anything over that amount will leak. Our products were not specifically designed for night-time wear, therefore we can’t guarantee their success if you purchase for that purpose. For added protection, we offer Wearever® washable, reusable Bed Pads - which can hold up to 60 ounces of liquid -- to keep all your furnishings dry.

The HDL400 is a mid-rise brief in a soft pointelle knit with a sewn-in pad, cut like regular underwear. Because the Maximum pad holds more, it sits a little thicker than our Regular styles.

It's the most common piece of feedback we see on this style. If your hips fall right on the line between two sizes on our chart, size up — a snug edge that's too tight is more likely to feel bulky and can even let liquid leak at the leg opening, which is the opposite of what a snug fit is supposed to do.

Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. Skip chlorine bleach and fabric softener (including dryer sheets) — they coat the pad and cut its absorbency. Wash and dry it fully before you wear it the first time; that first wash helps open up the pad's fibers. Treated this way, they're validated to last at least 200 washes.
